A Young Male Receives A DWI Arrest And Finally Decides To Hire A "Drunk Driving" Lawyer
Even though Franklin wasn't an attorney, he told his son that he learned the hard way when as a young man he received a DWI, represented himself in court, paid forty-five hundred dollars in penalties and fines, and served 120 days in the jail downtown. As he told his son, after he got released from jail, he found out from an attorney friend that had he hired a "drunk driving" attorney to represent him in court, he more likely than not would have had his fines and penalties significantly reduced and he might have never served any time in the city jail.
When Lawrence heard this he knew he needed more facts about DUIs and so he asked his father for more information about what a "drunk driving" attorney can do in a DWI arrest. His dad then stated the following: "A DUI lawyer will see if there's a way to get your case dismissed, and if this is not possible, your DUI attorney will be centering his or her attention on what viable defenses there are to winning your case."
When Lawrence heard his father explain this, it was as if his eyes were opened for the first time about the importance of hiring a "drunk driving" lawyer. Near the end of their discussion, Lawrence mentioned that he was starting to grasp the importance of DWI laws and what DWI attorneys can do for a person who has received a "driving under the influence" arrest.
After getting "educated" about "drunk driving" arrests, the role of "driving under the influence" attorneys, and the fact that he didn't have to agree to take any field sobriety tests at the time of his arrest, Lawrence made up his mind that he would definitely hire a "drunk driving" attorney to represent him in court. Something else, however, happened after he had talked to his father. Lawrence at last started to realize the serious nature of "driving under the influence" arrests and, as a consequence, he made up his mind that from this moment forward, he would always drink in moderation so that he would never again have to go through another "drunk driving" arrest.
His father smiled at Lawrence and told him the following: "Lawrence,it took me until I was fifty-five years old to realize what you just told me. I am very proud of you." This did wonders for his self worth and so Lawrence thanked his dad and then said, "if I can always drink responsibly, I will never need to hire a DUI lawyer again!"
Regrettably, there was one issue that neither Lawrence nor his father considered, namely, if Lawrence is exhibiting any alcohol abuse signs or maybe if he is manifesting any of the typical signs of alcoholism. Indeed, if Lawrence is exhibiting any alcohol signs that indicate alcoholism or alcohol abuse, he may need alcohol counseling.
In fact, Lawrence may be mandated by the court to get rehabilitation for his unhealthy and excessive drinking. The good news, conversely, is that whatever it takes to address his unhealthy and abusive drinking, it seems that Lawrence will be motivated to do the "correct" thing.
